DJ Self Help has a couple tracks on the new "Midwest Connection" compilation. One is a dense yet breezy party banger called "Church Master" featuring vocals from Jungle Jim Slim and Self Help's bandmate Alleyes Manifest.
The song's flute-powered thump would go over well in the sort of stomping, neon sanctuary that pops up at the end of Outkast's "B.O.B." video. No need for controlled substances to get this hyped: "All my people in the chapel/ They feelin' it all natural". It's a good look for Alleyes, who is, after all, the son of a preacher man.
